Ende Gelände 2016 - climate Justice in action
Martin Bauhof, Carolin Pagel
4000 people taking part in a direct action, one of the largest international protests in Germany since the G8 in Heiligendamm, up to six simultaneous blockades – a huge success for the climate movement! Ende Gelände is a broad alliance of people from the anti-nuclear and anti-coal movements. Together with activists from many different countries we shut down a lignite mine and forced Vattenfall to take its lignite power station Schwarze Pumpe almost completely off the grid. Here, we will give an overview of the different actions and blockades and invite you to take part in upcoming actions of a growing movement.
